Carol Nord: Director of Educational Support Services
Carol was raised in south Louisville and attended St. Helen Catholic School and Angela Merici High School. After beginning her college studies at Eastern Kentucky University, she returned to Louisville to attend the University of Louisville, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and continued graduate studies toward her Master’s degree. Throughout her career, Carol pursued additional professional development, including specialized training as part of an inaugural program for Middle School Math Specialists, Principal Certification coursework, and doctoral studies in Education and Social Change at Bellarmine University.
Carol dedicated her career to Catholic education and school leadership across the Louisville community. She began teaching at St. Denis Catholic School in Shively before serving as Principal of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic School in south Louisville. During her tenure there, she led the development and transition to a new regional Catholic school, St. Nicholas Academy. After 25 years in Catholic school leadership, Carol became Executive Director of Nativity Academy in downtown Louisville, where she served for ten years before retiring from the role.
Following her retirement, Carol joined Community Catholic Center as Director of Educational Support Services. In this role, she helps place students in Catholic schools, monitors their academic progress, and coordinates support services to help ensure student success. She also oversees tutoring opportunities for students in need of additional academic assistance, leads CCC’s annual Summer Academic Enrichment Program for K–8 students, and helps middle school students prepare for the transition to Catholic high school.
Carol is the proud mother of three adult children and grandmother to five grandchildren, with whom she enjoys spending time and supporting in their many activities.
