Mary Ellen Hilbert: Academic Intervention Coordinator
Mary Ellen, a Louisville native, attended St. Stephen Martyr Elementary School, Holy Rosary Academy, and Bellarmine College. She dedicated 46 years to the public school sector, building a distinguished career that included roles as a speech pathologist, special education teacher, and educational diagnostician.
Following her retirement from public education, Mary Ellen joined Community Catholic Center as Academic Intervention Coordinator. In this role, she oversees the psychoeducational testing process for students recommended by CCC partner schools. While assessments are conducted by interns from Spalding University, Mary Ellen manages the referral process, coordinates follow-up meetings with parents, and collaborates closely with partner schools and learning coordinators to develop appropriate accommodation plans tailored to each student’s needs.
Mary Ellen and her husband, Eddie, have three children and six grandchildren. A lifelong advocate for Catholic education, Mary Ellen values the formative role it played in her own life and is passionate about helping provide the same opportunities for future generations.
She is especially committed to ensuring that all students have access to an equitable and supportive education that recognizes and accommodates diverse learning styles.
